Emergency Paediatric First Aid 1 day course

This one-day Paediatric First Aid course follows the syllabus of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements of Ofsted for the Voluntary Childcare Register. This qualification is the minimum requirement for all new Level 2 and Level 3 staff members working in an early-years setting.

The 1-day Paediatric First Aid course covers:

  • how to plan for and deal with a First Aid emergency
  • recovery position
  • resuscitation (CPR)
  • choking
  • bleeding and wound management
  • shock
  • scalds and burns
  • asthma
  • meningitis
  • head injuries
  • sprains, fractures and dislocations
  • foreign bodies in eyes, ears and nose
  • bites and stings
  • anaphylactic shock

Assessment and certification

Learners will be given ongoing assessment through the 1-day Paediatric First Aid course and a multiple-choice questionnaire at the end of the day to confirm learning. On completion of the course they’ll receive an Ofsted-compliant certificate, valid for three years.

Course fee

In house £525 + VAT per group of 12 – includes handouts, a paediatric First Aid booklet and certificate.

Public venue: £55 + VAT per person – includes handouts, a paediatric first aid booklet and certificate.
