This two-day Paediatric First Aid Course follows the syllabus of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements of Ofsted’s Compulsory Childcare Register.
You will need to complete the first part of the course online before joining us in the classroom to complete the practical part of your training. Together, this constitutes your 12 hour course. – A COPY OF YOUR ONLINE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE WILL NEED TO BE PRODUCED ON THE DAY OF THE PRACTICAL COURSE.
The certificate gained on completion of the entire course is required for entry onto the Early Years register.
The 2-day Paediatric First Aid course is suitable for:
- nannies (for Ofsted’s Compulsory Register)
- Foundation Stage teachers
- nursery staff
- pre-school workers
- after-school clubs
The 2-day Paediatric First Aid course covers:
- how to plan for and deal with a First Aid Emergency
- reporting of accidents and incidents
- recovery position
- resuscitation (CPR)
- bleeding and wound management
- scalds and burns
- electric shock
- head, neck and back injuries
- broken bones
- foreign bodies in eyes, ears and nose
- bites and stings
- anaphylactic shock
Assessment and certification
Learners will be monitored and assessed throughout the day in the classroom and multiple choice questions will be need to be answered during the online – e Learning modules. On completion of the course you will receive an Ofsted-compliant 12 hr Paediatric First Aid course certificate, valid for three years.
