The Young Persons Empowerment Programme was created in response to the need to engage and develop young people who are in Alternative Provision. Working with the Knights Templar School, we were able to pilot and refine this engaging and dynamic personal development programme.

To provide external support to young people who struggle in mainstream education. Giving them time, a voice and an understanding of their emotions, their attitude to life, and how they can be the best version of themselves.

Challenges we aim to overcome

  • Young people school engagement
  • Disruptive behaviour in class
  • Detoriorating mental health
  • Feeling of disconnect
  • Poor attention span

We offer a 10 week programme of one hour sessions preferably at the beginning of the week. In these sessions, we have the chance to work with your young people and develop them away from the core cirriculum. We work closely with them and build a rapport and trusting relationship where we address subjects which affect their lives. Whether it be bullying, friendship issues or self confidence, we are able to work with the young people at their level.

External mentor to bring a fresh and engaging approach away from lesson teaching.

Topics covered include how to manage stress, anxiety and depression, wellbeing and exercise, peer support, the impact of social media, citizenship, and many others.

Time spent specially to support the children with extra needs to support them and encourage improvement in their soft skills.
